I haven’t posted because I’ve been rehearsing for this show next Tuesday. My first gig in Paris! I’ll mainly be on bass but will be singing a few things. It’s for a new project of my very talented friend Miro called either “Le Garage Miro Meet Maggie” or “Garage Booster” (I think that’s the latest [...]

I’m a lackadaisical yogini. I probably took my first yoga class ten years ago and have been dabbling in it since, but never too seriously. I loved it but preferred my workouts more hardcore: Radu, bootcamp, boxing…
But now that I’m older (ahem), I’m just not that interested in punishing my body so much and since [...]

I had several errands to do today… It’s bitter cold (for Paris) right now and I lost my gloves in New York. Anyway, I walked around two opposite sides of town and got lost both times.
Paris, with its arrondissements, is built like a snail’s shell—or that’s what I read somewhere once.
The center of the shell [...]

Now that I’m in the Land of the Best Television on the Planet (yep, the good ol’ USA), I’m getting sucked back into the idiot box. I’ve always been a fan of America’s Next Top Model and the new season starts tonight. It’s a horrible popularity contest (where Tyra Banks is always the winner) and [...]

After the studio, I met up with my friend, Eyoko, who was the fantastic stylist for my video, Obvious.
We grabbed a bite at Bite, which is a cute little sandwich/salad spot on 14th Street—and low-key like we wanted. Eyoko brought me a rose (awww) and we caught up on our crazy lives. Aside from working [...]

No day of rest for me. When you’re trying to finish a record, there’s no such thing as a weekend off. But that’s ok. I’m happy to be in here singing, although I’m having a hell of a time trying to nail this one vocal. Ugh. It’s just not working and it’s so frustrating!
Anyway, it’s [...]

On a recent jaunt around the Marais, I stumbled upon an oasis of New York familiarity—Pinkberry! Pinkberry, of the sour frozen (non) yogurt, invented by some Korean chick in LA, and favored by that arbiter of taste, Paris Hilton. Upon closer inspection, however, I saw that it wasn’t a Pinkberry, but a Myberry. Clearly, a [...]

Due to my most recent obsession, 24, I’ve been up til 3 am every night this week finishing up the 3rd season on DVD. (I know I’m waaay behind on becoming a fan, but I’m just not a TV person.) Anyway, not sleeping til 3 am means I don’t get up til 11 and then [...]

January 6th is my older sis’ birthday as well as Three Kings Day, aka the Epiphany, or the last day of the Christmas season (you know, the 12th day of Christmas like the song.) The French have a particular tradition for today, the eating of the galette des rois. It’s an almond puff pastry [...]

Being Korean, I can’t go too long without some sort of Asian food fix; ideally Korean, but Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian and even Indian will do. Now France, which is roughly twice the size of Colorado, doesn’t exactly boast a booming Asian population, so finding decent Asian food can be a challenge.
Japan Town (or Street, [...]
