Newsflash: I Have Left The Building!
One of the challenges of stay-at-home momdom, coupled with not having a big network of friends in the area, plus living in a comfortable home AND being enormously pregnant, is that it’s really easy to park your ass on the couch and just stay at home. I’ve got a fridge full of yummy things, my Apple TV and the internet—why would I ever leave?
I am a couch potato and an internet addict. I admit it.
Not only is this bad for my growing butt, it’s terrible for my shrinking brain. So in the interest of staving off early senility, I’ve decided to make an effort to LEAVE MY HOUSE, especially since Paris has been unusually warm and sunny for February.
It’s nice to get fresh air, in case you were wondering.
So here I am, at a bobo cafe in the neighborhood for some blogging and other writing. I’ve already devoured a spinach quiche and a banana-vanilla milkshake, too quickly to take a pic.
This place is called Kooka Boora and it’s adorable, from the sweet guys behind the counter to all the expats and otherwise who look like they’re attempting to become J.K. Rowling the Second (just like me!) Plus their coffees, fresh juices, milkshakes and teas are delicious. The quiche was good, too. Apparently, this is one of Paris’ go-to spots for terrific coffee and treats.
Anyway, I’m going to become a regular here, especially since the wifi is free!! (You can take kitty off the couch, but not off the internet…)

Yeah, unfortunately I understand your problem. My little apartment in paris is a black hole of internet and hanging out with my dog. I’ve heard the KKBRRA is a good place. Love the blog.

Thanks, Frenchie! Yes, try out KB–it’s got a great vibe.
First of all, congratulations on being pregnant! You once wrote you wanted to, and finally you had enough time with your hubby… Good for you that you are getting out of the house. Staying inside can make you a little bit crazy and depressed. It is soo easy when the kids are in bed, to just sit and relax in front of the tv. Especially when you work every day, and have two extremely active and loud boys in the house. But no matter how tired you feel, getting out and being social gives you energy! Spring is in the air, also here in Norway, and I can feel the energy coming back. Enjoy your pregnancy and spring in Paris!

Thanks, Lisa! I’m so dreading the two kids situation but trying REALLY hard to be positive about it
